For those who are able to. please share the message about the Raktrul Foundation. Many people do not know that the Medical/Solar Project, which was organized by Bardor Tulku RInpoche, will establish a medical clinic in the isolated village of Dortam in Eastern Tibet and equip the clinic and a nearby orphanage with solar-powered lighting and electricity. In short, this project will bring healthcare to a community with a tragically high maternity death rate and a disproportionate number of orphans. Maternal mortality in this region is 3,000 out of every 100,000 live births. |
|
You can help! One cause of newborn and maternal mortality is infection. A simple clean delivery kit containing a piece of soap, 2 pieces of clean yarn, a razor blade, and plastic drop cloth have been found to significantly decrease the death rate from infection for newborns and their mothers.
